update 0.2 release


Hiii ufgp playtesters!!! Merry christmas!!!!!

im happy to announce that update 0.2 is finally out!!!

This update was primarily a way for me to finish most of the  remaining mechanics that make up the core of any fighting game, like throws, projectiles and different color palettes for both players. In general, id say that most of the core mechanics have been implemented.

PATCH NOTES

  •  added throws: these can be performed by pressing D while holding forward or back. Note that youll only get a throw if your opponent is close enough to you and in a throwable state, otherwise youll just get 5D
  • added new special move: 236A (projectile) as well as the functionality for creating projectiles
  • added counter and punish hits
    • both counter and punish hits freeze your opponent for a bit, allowing you to recover in time to follow up with a combo
    • both increase the damage dealt by the attack that causes them
    • counter hits can also have additional effects like different knockback properties or wall bounces
  • reworked corners to let players keep run momentum while attacking, even in the corner
  • added a main menu
  • added an unfinished training mode, this simply resets you health after every combo to allow you to see how much damage your combo did
  • added a different color palette for player 2
  • adjusted the hitbox of j.236B to make it more useful in combos

Thank you to everyone who playtested the game so far and especially to those who made fan art of the characters. I cant express how much the support of the playtesting discord helped me keep my motivation to get this update done as quickly as I did.
